Pride at Birdland
I spent the evening of June 28th at Birdland shooting three shows...Nicholas Rodriguez, Tony Yazbeck with Clyde Alves and Melinda Sullivan, and "Love Me" with Molly Pope (not the official title, but she seemed to be the emcee. Really fantastic all around, here are a few highlights...
a space shuttle
I feel it needs a bit of explanation...
At Kennedy Space Center there's a fantastic reveal of Space Shuttle they have on display. Basically, you're put into one of those Disneyesque 180˚surround-cinemas, you're shown a brief and very loud film of a launch, and finally, as you float through space, a curtain rises and there's the shuttle. Caught this moment just as that was happening. I think it makes for a rather otherworldly photo.
