I didn't have a solar filter, but of course, wanted to photograph the eclipse. What i did have, languishing away in a drawer, was a stack of flash filters I bought years ago. I pulled out the darkest two i could find--one red, one blue, cut 'em up, attached them to a busted UV filter frame, and sandwiched them underneath a polarizing filter. This top image is what I got, a rather pleasant surprise. The bottom image is through cloud cover with a little saturation added. Voila! Eclipse.
